We’re trying something new with this month’s Sustainable Red Bank — we will be watching a movie and then holding a discussion group about it in our April program.
The movie is The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind. It is the true story of Malawian Will Kamkwamba, who as a boy built a windmill water pump from scrap to save his village from famine caused by a drought. This movie is available to us through the ALA’s Resilient Communities program, which recently designated the Red Bank Public Library as a Climate Resilience Hub.
For the April program, we will be discussing the movie and climate resilience in our community more broadly.
If you have a Netflix subscription, you can watch the movie through it any time this month. If you do not have a subscription, email us at redbanklibrary@gmail.com and we will send you a code!
